Year of Fire Rooster!

Year of Fire Rooster!

Gung Hay Fat Choy!!! Year of the Fire Rooster!

1/27/17 New Moon Aquarius marks the beginning of the Chinese New Year of the Fire Rooster. The Rooster calls Cockadoodle-Doo @ the break of dawn to WAKE US UP! & get us to work on the farm! This year already feels like a Wake Up Call in so many ways.  New Year & New Moons are a great time to “Reboot” & this energy is calling us to make big changes in any area that is not working for us. I just read, if you don’t like where you are right now, MOVE, you’re not a Tree!

A lot of shifts happening this year for many of us, which can be challenging but also exciting… This is a time to learn more, do more, be more, the energy of the Fire Rooster will INSPIRE you to step out of your comfort zone & try something new. It’s a go, go, go kinda year, which can be exhausting so remember to take time out for self care as well.

This year is the most auspicious time for Space Clearing, purging, cleaning out your closets, sock drawers & tidying up.

This year will fare best for Roosters & Dragons.

And if you are looking for a local Chinese New Years Celebration, Oregon Tai Chi will be having a Chinese New Years event Saturday, more info on their site here:

And if you want to know what 2017 holds for you personally, remember that I am offering Free 9 Star Ki Astrology (Chinese Astrology) readings with your Massage or Reiki Session right now! I also do Space Clearings…

Tracy’s Postpartum Reiki Special

Posted on: June 11th, 2014 by healing_arts_admin

Tracy Pitcock wrote this heartfelt essay about her experience with Postpartum Depression, she is offering a Reiki special to all new moms who may be suffering with similar symptoms. She has invited moms to bring their babes to their sessions if they like! Right now 1 Hour Reiki w/ Tracy for $60 for new moms!
There seems to be such a stigma that comes along with admitting you have Postpartum Depression. I wasn’t ashamed of the fact that I suffered from ppd, just too tired and hungry to deal with it.
My husband and I moved from Indiana to Seattle in May 2006, far away from all of our close friends and family. I conceived our son a week after we signed our first lease on a cozy 500 sqft, 1 bedroom apartment. Everything fell into place quickly and I enjoyed a wonderfully uneventful pregnancy. On January 24th, a little after 2:00 a.m. I started to feel funny…by 5:30 a.m. we were at the hospital… 6:53 a.m. we laid eyes on our son for the first time.
You might say (and many have) how lucky I was to have such a short, uncomplicated, unmedicated, easy delivery. It sounds great, except it wasn’t. I was so amazingly overwhelmed! Not by this beautiful, perfect baby I now held in my arms, but by the fact that my brain hadn’t caught up with what had physically just took place. I have a very hard time saying this, but it wasn’t love at first sight… my first failure as a mama, or at least that what I was telling myself.

We went home the following evening and the feelings started to settle in… Fear, loneliness, overwhelming tiredness, but I sucked it up and started the long, daunting process that was now my life…
Change diaper, nurse, change diaper, rock to sleep, try to settle down enough to sleep myself, sleep for about 15 minutes before being woke up by the cries of hunger and needing a new diaper. Every once in a while I was able to gather food to eat during the time I should have been resting, but then I would set down to eat only to be called again by the cries of hunger from the boy.

I felt like I was a slave to his every whimper and my life no longer mattered. I also knew I was going to totally screw up his life and never be able to keep him safe. I couldn’t open my shades and look out at the people on the street going about their lives as if nothing had changed. Everything had changed! Why did I want a baby so bad? What was I thinking? Why doesn’t anyone talk about the reality of having a newborn? How would I ever survive this?

Our son is now 7 and he is so amazingly creative, thoughtful, funny, compassionate, silly, and a budding environmentalist. I can’t imagine our lives without him! I was fortunate enough to have my mom and dad move out here a little before the boy turned 2. At that point I was finally able to confront my postpartum depression. I went through many sessions of talk therapy and came to terms with all of the negativity associated with my first few years of motherhood.

I only wish I had know about Reiki back then, but I still probably wouldn’t have gone. Could I bring the baby with me? Probably not. I don’t know, or for that matter trust anyone to babysit him. What if he gets hungry? He’s hungry all of the time and I don’t pump!

I want to invite you to bring your baby with you. Reiki can be done sitting, standing, or lying down. Let your baby sleep in the car seat while you relax next to them receiving Reiki. If they need to be held or fed, we can move to a chair. If you’ve master the art of nursing while laying down, you can simply change positions. As an added bonus (for me) I will hold your baby while you take a few minutes for yourself and let the Reiki continue to flow to them, if desired.
